EthereumPoW (ETHW) Mining Calculator
Break-even point (shutdown price)
ETHW can drop 44% before mining becomes unprofitable.
ETHW price and your shutdown price
Dashed line — your shutdown price for each day, at that day's network difficulty and block reward.
Over the last year, your shutdown price went from $0.746 to $0.125: network difficulty fell 83%. ETHW was below it on 1 day out of 365.
Revenue and costs
| Item | Per day | Per month | Per year |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue | $2.21 | $66.35 | $807.21 |
| Pool fee | $0.00 | $0.00 | $0.00 |
| Electricity | −$1.25 | −$37.44 | −$455.52 |
| Net profit | +$0.96 | +$28.91 | +$351.69 |
| Mined, ETHW | 9.95 | 298 | 3,631 |
A month is 30 days and a year is 365 days at today's network difficulty and price; difficulty growth is not included.
EthereumPoW (ETHW) mining: what to know
EthereumPoW (ETHW) is a fork of Ethereum that kept Proof-of-Work after the main network moved to Proof-of-Stake. It's a niche coin, so profitability depends heavily on fresh price and network data.
Shutdown price
The calculator finds the shutdown price — the ETHW price at which the coins you mine are worth exactly what you pay for electricity. If the price falls below it, mining runs at a loss.
ETHW difficulty changes with every block, so the shutdown price moves quickly too. The calculator uses fresh difficulty and network hashrate to help you decide in time whether to keep mining or switch your hardware to another coin.
FAQ
What is EthereumPoW network difficulty right now?
Currently 35.61 T. ETHW difficulty changes with every block, roughly every 13 seconds. The calculator takes it from our server, where data updates every 5 minutes. The history is on the ETHW difficulty page.
Which GPU do I need to mine ETHW?
The ETHW DAG grows by 8 MB every 30,000 blocks, roughly every 4.5 days, and is now about 7.6 GB. A GPU must fit all of it: cards with 8 GB of memory or more will do. But that's only the technical requirement: ASICs run the network, and at a typical electricity rate a GPU mines at a loss. You can check your own card with “Custom device”; the device list has only ASICs with 8 GB of memory or more.
How is ETHW different from Ethereum?
EthereumPoW is a fork of Ethereum that stayed on Proof-of-Work and the Ethash algorithm in 2022. Ethereum itself moved to Proof-of-Stake then and can no longer be mined.
How often is the data updated?
Difficulty, network hashrate and block time come from our server: it refreshes them every 5 minutes and cross-checks several sources. The ETHW price comes from an exchange. You can also enter your own price.
Why does ETHW profitability swing so much?
ETHW is a small network: the coin price and hashrate move noticeably, and it trades on only a few exchanges. So the result is a guide for today; recalculate before buying hardware.
